Formawall® Panels
Product Description
Robertson Formawall® is an insulated composite
architectural wall panel system which can be
manufactured with a choice of external and
internal liner metals and coatings, as well
as a range of core materials. Formawall® is a
fully proven system now used in more than 20
countries and in all climatic regions.
Formawall® composite panels are suitable for
horizontal or vertical applications. The external
metal face sheet may be specified in a range of
substrates. A lightly striated configuration which
enhances aesthetic appeal and provides added
strength is also available.
All panels and accessories are available in a
wide range of standard or custom colours, with
external and internal faces in different colours
if required. The internal metal liner sheet is
finished in an off-white polyester which can be
over-painted on site if required.
Features and Benefits
Robertson Formawall® systems are routinely
specified by architects, designers, developers,
owners and occupiers seeking the benefits
offered by the most advanced building systems.
Formawall® systems not only look good, they
are lighter, faster to erect and provide thermal
and sound efficiencies far superior to those of
traditional building systems.
Formawall is manufactured using non-ozone delpeting materials & qualifies for Greenstar rating.
Standard Formawall® is approximately:
• 28 times lighter, and 4 times more efficient as
an insulating medium, than a similar section
of rendered cavity brick wall.
• 13 times lighter, and 10 times more efficient
as an insulating medium, than a pre-cast
concrete panel (comparing a 100mm thick
concrete panel to a 50mm Robertson panel).
Endless creative designs: Formawall® can be
curved and cranked to create architectural
features.
Commercial coating systems: Commercially
available coating systems such as polyester or
solid colour and metallic PVDFs in a range of
colours.
Fast construction times: Formawall® panels
can be manufactured in lengths up to 10
metres, allowing rapid closing-in of the building
envelope.
Structural efficiency: Composite construction
allows long unsupported spans, reducing the bulk
of (and requirement for) support structures.
Product Applications
The above features have led to the specification
of energy-efficient Formawall® panels for many of
the world’s leading computer, medical, aviation,
industrial, commercial and government projects.
Horizontal Panels
Unique joint design utilises the “rainscreen”
concept, eliminating the risk of water penetration
and reducing exterior maintenance costs. A
pressure equalisation chamber, 13mm capillary
break, internal baffle and sloped drain shelf at
each horizontal joint, together provide optimum
weather integrity. The 13mm capillary break
also gives the panel module a strong linear
expression. Vertical joints between panels feature
a dry-seal compressible gasket, recessed to
complement the horizontal joint reveal. Other
options are also available.
Vertical Panels
Formawall® vertical panels are provided with
double tongue-and-groove joints at the edges
which accommodate factory-applied sealant
and a concealed fixing system that eliminates
leakage.
Colours
Exterior: Robertson Formawall® is available in a
wide range of standard colours, special colours,
and metallic finishes.
Interior Liner: 20 micron off-white polyester as
standard. Other finishes are available on request.
